The Ruby is a hidden gem in southwest Montana, much smaller in size than many of the surrounding area rivers, but don’t let that fool you, the Ruby offers some amazing walk-wade opportunities. This is the type of water that is easy to read and break down where the fish will hold. Full of amazing wild browns, rainbows, and cutthroat. The Ruby offers a variety of angling opportunities from headhunting selective trout sipping PMDs to throwing a grasshopper against the bank. If going deep is your style it’s also an excellent nymph and streamer river.
